About / Design and Social Responsibility
Green is good.
We don’t think anyone makes a conscious decision to pollute the environment or unnecessarily waste natural resources, but we understand most don’t know how resource intensive and wasteful communication production processes can be.
We believe its our responsibility to society to communicate this to our clients, and help them make the most appropriate choices. Like any other professional, designers have a responsibility to ensure that the work they produce on behalf of their clients is as environmentally sound as possible—this includes deciding if the clients message is worthy of the energy and resources that go into producing it.
We believe designers are well placed to be advocates for environmental sustainability as we are in the fortunate position where we influence both clients and suppliers. We prompt our clients to consider environmental sustainability and let them know that we can guide them through the process. After all, who doesn't want to do something positive for the environment?
We ask our suppliers if they have environmental management systems and if not, why not? There is a myriad of companies out there across all industries who are making environmental sustainability a core value of their businesses. It's a changing market, and more and more, consumers are voting with a conscience.
