What is Environmentally Sustainable Design?
Environmentally Sustainable Design is the application of sustainability principles—the minimisation of resource consumption and waste—to communication design. It considers the environmental impacts of the communication design process, and the life cycle of the communication product including:
- the source of raw materials,
- the transformation of the raw materials,
- manufacturing of the product,
- transportation of the product,
- how the product will be used, and
- the disposal of the product.
Studioalto doesn’t make grand claims to be ‘sustainable’ – our aim is simply to work towards sustainability, as cleanly and effectively as possible.
This means making every effort to communicate our client’s message with minimal environmental impact. It also means—and perhaps more importantly—working with clients who have a positive impact on our community and environment.
