Being approached to re-brand Melbourne’s iconic Old Treasury Building was seen as more of a privilege than a project for us. This beautiful building – designed by 19-year-old architect JJ Clark during the mid 19th century – speaks of the grandeur and significance of Victoria’s social and political development during these times.
Our goal was to represent the historical building in a contemporary context, whilst illustrating its rich history. To create this vision we took visual cues from the structural elements of the unique building and its environment, stripped them back to their simplest forms, and combined them with the building’s historical use – literally the storing of stacked gold bullion.
