“Excellent, informative & easy. This App gives in depth historical information of wherever you happen to be.”

iTunes 5 star review

They say, we must know our history before we can truly understand the present. Some extraordinary buildings we might walk past every day, yet not be aware of its rich past.

The Vic-Heritage app explores the histories of these important and unusual places around Melbourne and regional Victoria. Spanning significant places from the 1840s to the present, the App captures everything from Victorian to modern architecture; from houses to industrial spaces; from mansions to bridges; from public toilets to trees and gardens. Be it tourists or locals, this app makes it a breeze to look up nearby heritage sites or plan an interactive tour of Melbourne architecture.

The real beauty of this app is that people are engaging and sharing their own stories.

It’s not just serving up information from one place. This enriches the history of each location with new content from a community rather than committee.

Released in Nov 2011, this app is still going strong with 5 star reviews and a mobile award under its belt.
